Family News Update

Hello people…alot has been happening and I haven’t been able to post the news other than the usual upcoming event listings. So I’ll try and play catch up today.

On April 13, we headed back out to Bay Meadows again with yet a bigger group. Joining us this time was my friend Tom, Lori, Melissa, Rod, Sarah, Dennis, Mare, Brandon, Haley, Boston, Mason, and friend’s of Paul, Brandon and Evelyn. Also Justin Kan, of Justin.tv was introduced to the family and hung out with us all night. He came with his then producer Lindsay, brother Damien and another friend from Harvard. He ended up staying longer than he should have since he already had plans to watch the movie Disturbia, which opened this night. He was paid to advertise the movie on his site. He still managed to watch the movie after the race track though. Again, using her proven methods, Ethel picked a winning Trifecta and picked up $190. It sucks that Bay Meadows is gone come November, we are definately planning more family trips there before it closes.

The other game.

On April 28 AllegedlySpeaking.com members headed to Sunnyvale for the SMASH Softball Tournament. New members Tami and Jamal from my work as well as Justin showed up to play on team Justin.tv. Justin’s friends were too hung over to play this early and our own family members had other plans this weekend, so we walked around drafting players around the facility. We played 2 games, lost the first one and was winning the 2nd game until the last inning. “Socks” (Elaine) had a little too much alcohol, but it didn’t appear to effect her playing ability. Justin’s allergies started kicking into full gear and he had to grab a nap in his car to feel better. But we all had fun and that’s what was important.

On May 12, the members of Allegedly Speaking.com, including AGAIN new family member Justin, headed to the Sky Terrace at Medjool located in the Mission District of The City. Most of us followed the instructions posted on our Evites and arrived on time to avoid the crowds. Of course, the guest of honor arrived about 40 minutes after everyone else. But birthday girls can do no wrong. Come to think of it, she left about 40 minutes before everybody else did too.

Everyone had a good time and if you weren’t there (and you know who you are) you can watch the whole party through Justin’s perspective. Click here to see Carol call out the notable no shows. Gabe was feelin’ pretty good too.

On Friday, May 18, Ethel and I were in Las Vegas for Kay and her fiance, Junior’s, wedding. In the morning, before the cermony, Ethel and I walked over to New York, New York to try our luck on the slots there. We found our favorite type of machine, the dollar Wheel or Fortune. Needless to say, Gambler Extraordinaire, Ethel, won big, we cashed out and walked out.

We then went to the wedding, held at the Four Seasons. Nice outdoor ceremony…hella hot.

The food was better than your average banquet style fare. I had the filet mignon on a bed of risotto topped with fried shredded onions.

Check out this video. It’s a first person account of the craziness in the arena that followed game 6 and another example as to why Warrior fans are now nationally recognized as the best fans in the NBA.

Dear Charles Barkley

Dear Charles Barkley -

First off, kiss our @sses. Good luck riding your choking maverick (or should i say donkey) into the off-season. Secondly, quit making these stupid predictions. What happened to your series prediction in which your Mavs win 4-1 by Game 5. If you think the Bay Area is for “Hillbillies”, what the heck do you think Alabama is for? Alabama is good for nothing except for marginally good college football. Don’t be jealous because we have 6 pro sports teams compared to your 2.. oh wait, i meant 0. C’mon now. Alabama vs Bay Area? You’ve become a joke. Enjoy -

Your predictions of the “helter skelter” “midgets” losing to the Mavs in 4 straight to lose the series the in Game 5 is making your Dallas Maverick’s owner Mark Cuban wig out like crackhead looking for a fix after a month w/out. See(below) what i’m saying?

“NELLY SMOKES CUBAN”

“Warriors - 1 NBA Championship
Steven Jackson - 1 NBA Championship (claps & applause)
Charles Barkley - 0 NBA Championships” -fan sign

Keep clapping, Steven Jackson. We’re with ya!

Lastly, am I the only one that feels the refs have been paid off to do their best to give this series to Dallas? WTF

“The Mavs are who we thought they were! They’re who we thought they were! If you wanna crown they asses. Go ahead. Crown they asses. The Mavs were who we thought they were!” - gabe cera represent, and i’m out!
