“Planning On Forever…”

Visit GabeandElaine.com

With a week and a half left until their much anticipated nuptuials, Gabe and Elaine have been busy planning and coordinating the events for next week. They have stepped up their planning to a vigorous pace that has Gabe returning phone calls to me at 3:46 in the A.M.! And now, to help them coordinate the wedding, is the master of organization herself, Mellie, who signed on a couple of weeks ago. Expect the unexpected. I think we’re all gonna have a great time.

Thinking of what you’re gonna do first? The Hilton Hawaiian Village on Waikiki is on the beach, has 5 pools, and 22 restaurants & bars within the property. Jamal aka Lamar from the JustinTV softball team just came back from a week at the Hilton Hawaiian with his wife and fellow teammate, Tami. He recommends spending time in the Alii Tower pool. It’s adults only there, so you’ll have to drop your kids off at the supervised kids activity center and check it out. I can’t wait to take my first nap on the beach, hopefully near some shade with a cool beverage on standby. Need more hotel facts?

Are you staying at the Sheraton Waikiki? (Mine and the Brady Bunch’s favorite hotel) I got you covered. Here are a list of their bars and their operating hours:
- The Cobalt Lounge; 4pm - 11:15pm
- Sand Bar; 10:30am - 9pm
- Esprit Night Club; 4pm - 12:30am
- Esprit Patio; 4pm - 12:30am

Checkout the Sheraton’s live webcams. Beach Cam and Sky Cam.

Speaking of webcams, if you can’t make the trip be sure to tune into the live webcast of the ceremony and reception on July 7th at 8pm PST on Justin.tv. Upon visiting the site you will be able to chat with other virtual guests from all over the world. Also keep checking back here, as I’ll be doing my best to update this site more frequently before, during and after Hawaii.

Farewell Jason Richardson

JRich and Gabe
Jason wrote a message to Elaine that read, “Marry Gabe!”

In a move that has saddened many Warrior fans, the Golden State Warriors have dealt Jason Richardson to the Charlotte Bobcats for their number 8 pick in today’s draft, Brandon Wright. Jason was not only the face of the team but the heart as well. Two seasons ago when the Warriors failed to make the playoffs for the 12th consecutive season, Jason, with his own money, took out a full page ad in the Chronicle (valued at $10,000) apologizing to the fans on behalf of the team. He was also the most exciting player on the court, because at any moment he could fire up a home crowd, or quiet one down when away, with a monstrous dunk. Thanks for some awesome memories Jason, you will be missed by all of us here.

Brandon Wright, who is only 19 and played one year at North Carolina, gives the Warriors some rebounding help. He is also known for his defensive skills and has the athleticism needed for the uptempo Warriors style. The move also brings the Warriors out of luxury tax hell and gives them room to sign their own free agents. By the looks of things, Nellie and Mullie still have some more wheeling and dealing left in them though. I have a suggestion, how about letting the Junior Jam Squad go, I’ve had enough of that.

One week to go…

With everyone busy getting ready for Hawaii, theres not much news to report. Be sure to check GABE AND ELAINE.COM for updates and schedules of events.

Life with Prius
prius

Well a week of ownership has passed and I’ve noticed several things about this car already that I thought I would share with you if you’re thinking about getting one.

1) Leave earlier than normal. In order to get the EPA listed gas mileage of 60 in the city and 51 on the highway, you have to keep your top speed under 72 MPH. My average speed to work pre-Prius was 80 MPH (which compared to other people at work is slow). My new average speed is 65 MPH.

2) Everybody cuts me off. People for some reason don’t like to be behind a Prius, even though I’m going about the same speed as regular traffic. It also doesn’t help that I usually have to stay in the right two lanes because of my speed. Cars normally exit and enter from the right.

3) I’m averaging 45.8 miles per gallon right now. According to the owners manual and Prius owner’s websites, your mileage average will increase as you break-in the vehicle.

4) My first full tank for the Prius was $28. My last full tank on the BMW was $54. That will be $116 savings per month and $1248 savings over the course of a year.

…a message from our co-founder

Hawaii here we come. I made some updates to the wedding website. I’ll be working on the itinerary tonight, and will post it on the website for all to download.

*The Cheeseballs At Harry Denton’s Starlight Room/6.15
This is the awesome cover band I wanted to hire for Mom and Dad’s Anniversary Party late last year. I’m trying to get out there to see them, but Ethel has a prior commitment that may keep us from going. If we miss them Friday night, they’ll probably be playing Bay Meadows come August…stay tuned for updates.
