Effective immediatly and until August 4th, 2008, all references to Paul henceforth will be changed to Paolo, pronounced “Pow-Low”. And Caroline and Paul 2008 will now be changed to Paolo and Caroline 2008 for trademark purposes.

Last Monday, October 22nd, 2007, Paolo and Caroline released their wedding website to family and friends (the site is password protected). It looks pretty awesome and there are lots of links that tell you how to get to the “Big Island” and what to do once you’re there.

As anticpation for the wedding grows as the days get closer and closer I’m sure there will be more to post, but for now I will leave you with this lasting impression of strength and power.

In other news of the day…

The ChampCast Waves are riding a 2 game winning streak and are tied for 1st place with Team Molar Majority in the Die Hard Division of the WFFL. With QB Drew Brees coming out of his early season funk, he may be the difference that could put the Waves in sole possesion of 1st place very soon. Stay tuned.
Found on the Net…
Here’s a video clip from Mark and Eugene’s-Jo Mary Court Annual Halloween Party from this weekend.
Here’s is another hilarious clip of the “Incredible Hulk“…too funny.
Incredible Last Play
Here’s another video from this weekend, you gotta check it out…it makes the “The Play” in 1982 with Cal vs Stanford look simple. It’s from a Division III NCAA Footbal game in Mississippi pitting home team Millsaps College vs Trinity University from San Antonio, Texas. With only 2 seconds left and with Trinity on it’s own 40 yard line and down by 2 points, the game was in all probability, over, except for one desperate play…

Allegedly Speaking TV

Gabe and I will be streaming our Las Vegas conference trip LIVE here on our website with the help of Justin Kan of Justin.tv. We are all still figuring out how this is going to work and what are broadcast schedule will be, but for the most part I think we are planning to do at the very least a full 48 hours of non-stop, live-streaming. The only issues, however, are that Las Vegas gaming rules prohibit this type of broadcast from the casino floor. So Gabe and I may gamble in shifts or maybe we’ll set the camera down in the room facing out the window. We are due arrive on Thursday, November 8th and leaving Saturday, November the 10th. If you can’t make it to Vegas with us, then stop by and check out the happenings here.
AS.com Road Trip

After years of being invited to this annual event and not being able to attend for one reason or another, hell finally froze over and we were able to get a group out to AS.com members, Tami and Jamal’s Halloween Party, at their 4000 square foot spread in the hills of Concord, California. Of course, we didn’t arrive to the 7:00pm party until 10:45pm, but we made it.

As usual, the party didn’t start until Gabe started doing his Lt. Dangle impersonations…

Mark aka Surfer Dude, Maria aka The Witch, Elaine aka Playboy Bunny and Jay aka Hugh Hefner.
“>
We also ran into former AS.com member Lee aka The Pirate, standing next to Ethel aka The Vampiress. The photo on the right is Jamal aka Issac The Bartender from the “Love Boat” who had my other favorite costume next to Lt. Dangle. Of course, I didn’t get a picture of Tami aka The Boxer and the evening’s hostess and Tom who had a friend in the military send him some traditional clothes from Pakistan so he could be a Pakistani.
Thanks to Tami and Jamal for the the invite. I’m not sure where you would begin cleaning after a party like that. Maybe next time I’ll come out a little earlier for the party and shoot our first AS.com CRIBS special at your place, it seems ready.
Also thanks to everybody for coming out that night. It sure was a long drive to get there, and I sure didn’t make the drive back any easier for you guys ;). And special thanks to my lovely wife for documenting the fact that I only made it about 5 steps into our house.

Apparently, the stairs were not an option this morning.
Fall Meet Ends November 4th

I have had several requests for one last trip to Bay Meadows which closes for the winter after Sunday, November 4th. So if you’re up to it, daytime racing that Sunday, starts at 12:45pm. Treat yourself to an early brunch and meet us at that track for the last time ’til next year and see what Bay Meadows looks like in the daytime. I forsee no traffic problems that day, let’s do it.

In week 5 of the WFFL, the Champcast Waves were defeated by the Molar Majority. We were bascially screwed, when Colts RB Joseph Addai was listed as inactive due to a shoulder injury just prior to his 1pm (PST) game. Naturally, Waves General Manager, Gabe, made the lineup adjustment for the team and benched Addai for the backup Colts RB, Kenton Keith, imitating the Colts change. Although the Waves lost the game regardless, we received this nasty email from the league commissioner:
(email received 10.07.07/11:25pm)
(my remarks added 10.08.07/9:30am)
Gabe & Jay,
You CANNOT be adjusting rosters AFTER the fact:
How about, “You cannot adjust the roster after the fact:”Look below at your lineup update time - WAY after the 10:00am cutoff time.
No kidding, we made the adjustment prior to the 1pm start time of the game and naturally 1pm comes after 10am.PLUS, I was monitoring as usual ALL DAY LONG - and you still had Addai in there at RB.
ALL DAY LONG! SO WHAT! And yes, again, Addai was ON our roster up until BEFORE the start of his 1PM(PST) game. So he was there for at least half of your DAY on the couch. This is NOT flying with me guys - we talked about this already last week about ADJUSTING
FUTURE lineups - that you already know affects the CURRENT lineup.
All we did was change a player on our roster who was injured and replaced him with his own backup from the same team in the same position and before the start of the game. Net result, NO EFFECT on the CURRENT lineup.I am reversing Keith for Addai and adding in Berrian’s 2 pts since you left out your #2 WR.
Please DO NOT let this stuff happen AGAIN - I will NOT stand for it guys!! Do it right or don’t play at all!!!
It didn’t JUST HAPPEN, it was just a regular move to help our team, a move that is made thousands of times each Sunday. And had we known about a 10am rule then we would have made the change earlier instead of PRIOR TO START OF THE GAME. Here’s a suggestion, lock the system up so if the rules really state, no roster moves after 10am, then it will not allow you to make a change after the cutoff time. As far as we’re concerned, our move to replace an injured player with his backup was within the rules of this league and EVERY OTHER FFL.Commish Kev
Boooooooooooooooooo!!!!!
Here’s the official Waves’ response to the league from General Manager of Football Operations, Gabe;
(sent 10.08.07/10:25am)
To League Commisioner Kev,
We’ll take the loss this week, I put Keith in there as soon as the news broke, and moreover, before his game started. This is part of fantasy management. This is why you wake up in the morning, or you pay attention and do your fantasy research. Right?
Are you insinuating that I became a hacker in my sleep or sumpn? I can’t tap into the fanstar database, and set my permissions any differently than anyone else? Why would our team have any special permission? I don’t get it. We shouldn’t be penalized for making good moves (starting Bowe or Keith). You should penalize everyone else as well.
So to clarify, in this league, no one is allowed to touch their lineups after 10am period. So, even if you have a player that is a gametime decision, you have his backup, you CANNOT opt for the guy who’s playing? A manager cannot choose his if they have a 1:00, 4:00, 5:00 or Monday night game? This shouldn’t even be an issue, anyway. How ever you feel it suits you best, configure the system that way in Fanstar. This way it’s not even possible for anyone to make any changes past whatever time you want, period. Why is this even an issue? I’ve never seen this issue come up in any other league, ever. If I could change my lineups “AFTER THE FACT” then why wouldn’t I put in all my best scorers every week?! It does not make sense.
Gabe
General Manager of Football Operations and Player Personnel
ChampCast Waves Football Club
To familiarize myself with the rules of this league I went to the official WFFL website to download them. The rules page was blank. I’m not sure what to do at this point, because I’m afraid anything we do to give ourselves the upperhand that is legal in every other league maybe against the rules here. Whatever the future holds for our team, I would like to stress that we here at AllegedlySpeaking.com and ChampCast.com strive for excellence, sportsmanship and fairplay and will continue in our pursuit of these goals without end.

The Warrior Special

While wrapping up last weeks edition of AllegedlySpeaking.com, I sent an email to Warriors Radio Analyst, Tim Roye, recommending Giovanni’s world famous White Shrimp Truck. Here was his reply:
Jay,
Outstanding recommendation!! I had tried
a shrimp plate at one of the other shacks but Giovanni’s was great and just another reason for me to love the islands. Thanks for the tip, Go Warriors and Aloha.

Check out the raw videotape footage of a Warrior’s inter-squad scrimmage. They look awesome. There’s even a short B.D. interview in the middle.
In case you missed Troy Hudson’s last second shot that put the Warriors over the Lakers in their preseason contest, here it is:
…and here’s the latest entry in Jim Barnett’s Training Camp Video Blog:
And in their second preseason game against the Lakers on 10.11.07, the Warriors won convincingly 199 to 106. Even though the W’s sat Baron, Harrington, Biedrins and Ellis and Kobe still played for the Lakers, the Lakers still didn’t have a chance. This might be a long season for the Lakers this year.
’til next Sunday…

Birthdays Wishes

A special AllegedlySpeaking.com Birthday Wish to mom and Louie who celebrated their birthdays the first half of this month.

The Warriors arrived in Oahu last Monday, en route to their summer training facility located at BYU Hawaii in the North Shore. Much like our family, they have been traveling there annually for summer training camp.

Carol and Evan taking a break at Turtle Bay.
They are staying at the Turtle Bay Resort and will be away from all the distractions of Honolulu. I sent an email to Warriors Radio Analyst, Tim Roye, telling him to make sure he stops by Giovanni’s Shrimp Truck for the Scampi.

The season is just around the corner. If you want to get a glimpse of this years team, check out their scrimmage live Tuesday night vs the Lakers at 9pm on FOX Bay Area, The Official Warriors Television Network.
The “NBA on FSN” theme song is one of THE best in sports today…listen for yourself.
Warriors television commentator, Jim Barnett, is Vlogging from Hawaii and sends this report back for us. Watch as he talks about what’s going on behind the scenes in the North Shore of Hawaii.
I’ll be posting his reports here as he files them. And in case you missed the first 2 editions, here they are for your viewing pleasure. Jim’s Vlog, PART-1, and PART-2.
The Mark Ruffalo Film Festival

I just received two more films in the mail for consideration into the Mark Ruffalo Film Festival. To date I have reviewed about 7 or 8 Ruffalo films, with several more to go. I will then release a list of recommended titles for everyone’s considersation. You can either have an opinion on what is shown or not. Those who want a say can rate the list of films in order from favorite to least favorite. And from that list I will choose the first 2 movies of the festival. Maybe 3, depending on the running length of certain titles.
Need Your Help For The Final Feature

For the finale, I would like to have Mr. Ruffalo or his publicist choose this film. What I need you guys to do is start searching the internet for contact numbers and then forward them to me. I did a basic search and have come up empty so far. Or, if you know someone, who knows someone, who knows someone that knows Mark, then let’s try to exploit that angle also.
Once the date of the festival is announced, the schedule of screenings will be released. You can show up and watch them all or just for the ones you want to see. Free popcorn, nachos, hot dogs, Margaritas and Mojitos all day long, followed by light entrees for the final feature.
The following trailer is of a film that is definately making the list of recommendations:
Stanford Upsets USC!

As we here at AllegedlySpeaking.com celebrate all that is the Bay Area, then we must mention the stunning upset that Stanford delivered to #2 ranked and arguably the number one team in the nation, USC. Stanford, a 41 point underdog, won the game with a 4th down and goal to go, 4th quarter, touchdown pass from Tavita Pritchard at the USC 10 to Mark Bradford in the back left corner of the endzone with only 49 seconds left in the game. Standford then sealed the victory with a Bo McNally interception in the final seconds of the game. Congrats to the Cardinal..and Cal for that matter who stand to benefit the most.
Final score, Stanford 24 - USC 23.
COMING SOON:

Coming to San Jose’s HP Pavilion December 26 through the 30th. Start checking your calendars…I’m thinking tickets are going fast. We should lock down the dates soon. Since guys don’t make decisions here it will be up to the ladies on whether or not this happens for us. ![]()
Caroline and Paul 2008

No word as yet…stay tuned. Announcement coming soon.
JEOPtrivia IV

Since the laptop I used for last year’s game died back in January and the information inside the hard drive was irretrievable, we will be using new software this year. Currently, I am testing different programs, but the front-runner is a system that is compatible with the buzzers that we introduced last year. This way everybody can see who buzzed in first, second and thrid. Most game related information will remain top secret, unless the Game Mistress wants to issue a press release regarding new rules or gaming equipment. All I’ll say is look for us to bring back some of the challenges from the 2005 edition of JEOPtrivia. Checkout the 2005 re-cap below from the 2006 opening and you’ll see what I mean…

October 1, 2007 by admin.

On Friday, September 28, we all headed back to Bay Meadows to celebrate Evelyn and Louie’s Birthday. The evening started out with a buffet dinner in the Turf Club. The club is located in a glass enclosed grandstand area with dinner tables set up on different tiers so all can have a view of the track.

Each table also has a small television monitor so you won’t miss any part of the action. The club was sold out for the night as every table was booked. It gave us a glimpse of how it must have felt during the track’s hey day back in the ’30s when Seabiscuit raced here 4 times.

I liked the buffet, but i was really hungry so I wasn’t in a critical mood. Elaine really liked the green pasta. She went back several times for it and even dedicated an entire plate for just the pasta. She ate so much of it she was looking to borrow a thick jacket to cover her full stomach. The drink orders kept getting screwed up, and after several wrong deliveries, I got what I ordered and it wasn’t watered down, so that was okay.

Ethel couldn’t wait to bet and during dinner had a feeling on 3 horses who she thought would finish at the top. She placed her standard Trifecta Box bet and as usual…her horses came in 1, 2 and 3. She won again, although not her normally huge payout, apparently others had the same feeling, I guess.

We then moved downstairs to check out the horses and the racing up close. Once there we hooked up with Justin who was doing fine. His camera has gotten alot smaller and it is attached to a strap on his back pack so he can be hat free now. He got us up to speed with what’s going on at the site.
He also told me his national television appearance on “Morning’s with Mike and Juliet” (KTVU FOX 2, 9am, Mon thru Fri) was taped and will be shown sometime this week. He was in New York and supposed to appear on the show last Tuesday but was bumped when the show ran long with Battered Teens and Cheating Husbands. He also said that beginning Oct. 1st (today) his site was opening up to anyone who wanted to broadcast live. All you need is a camera and a computer and you can start your own Justin.tv. However, if you want to be a true lifecaster you have to be mobile and you’ll have to find the equiptment to do that. But it’s not hard, if you need advice on equipment or want to know where to lease them contact jacob@justin.tv.
Walking With Dinosaurs coming to HP Pavilion!

I’m thinking about taking Evan to see this show about “real life” Dinosaurs stomping around the arena, does anybody else wanna go. They will be in San Jose on December 26 through 30. It looks hella CRAZY, even Jon and Nic would be impressed by this too…check it out!

Champcast Waves, Week 4
Although our opponent still has some points coming his way from tonight’s NFL matchup, only a miracle from New England’s Defense can pull the Winky Dinky Dawgs over the Waves who are on their way to being 2-2 for the season. With 140 points, the Waves were the top scoring team in the league this week. General Manager, Gabe, dumped Drew Brees, and pulled a rabbit out of his hat and picked up Marshall University alum, Chad Pennington from the New York Jets, who produced 22 points for the Waves this week. But the game ball has to go to Wide Receiver Dwayne Bowe of the Kansas City Chiefs who scored an amazing 45 points. Bowe, a rookie, caught 8 passes for 164 yards, including a 51 yard touchdown pass! Go Waves!
