Paolo and Caroline’s Big Day is Near

I paid a short visit to Paolo’s and Carol’s, Wedding Operations Center in Daly City late last night. Needless to say there was lots of activity going on while I was there. Pictures were getting chosen for a montage and things were getting packed and ready to be “shipped” to the Big Island.

Regarding the Turiaf offer, the Lakers are still on the clock and it is set to expire sometime today. A die hard Laker fan that I work with swears that the Lakers will resign Ronny…we’ll see about that.

Idol News

It’s 3am here at the Cow Palace as I’m writing this and the gates have been open for the past hour. It’s probably 48 degrees here with a little breeze making it colder, a typical San Francisco summer, and people are already standing in line waiting for the arena doors to open. I’m not sure why they feel the need to line up, they were already issued tickets with assigned seats, so no matter when you get in, you will still have to sit in your assigned seat. I’ve noticed alot of people with barely enough money to pay the $8 charge to get into the parking lot and many others who flat out can’t afford the fee and are camping out in their cars on the street.

I’ll keep this a LIVE blog and as I see or hear anything worth mentioning, I’ll update it here.

UPDATE
6am- Justin Guarini is making the rounds with some news organizations. Fox News is doing some live interviews on the morning show with contestants. The line to get in is about 7 people wide and stretches across the entires length of the parking lot and back.
8am- Producers get a bunch of contestants to form a huge figure 8 in the parking lot for Season 8. Soon afterwards the doors to the Cow Palace open.
9:30am- After everyone is seated, the head producer for A.I. is explaining to contestants how the auditioning procedure will work. He says, “when a producers hand goes up, you must stop singing, so you might wanna keep your eyes open.” He then says if you don’t make it to the next round you need to walk out “that exit” and then points to me and 5 of my co-workers standing near the exit, pays us a compliment and we get a nice hand from the contestants.
10am- The Cow Palace is packed. There are booths lined up the center of the floor and people are auditioning in them with producers. Lots of sad and mad people leaving. Boo hoo.
