Check out the below San Jose Sharks commercial starring AS.com members Tami and Jay(the other Jay).
When I spoke to Jay about he and his wife’s appearance, he told me that this was the only game they went to last season. Wow! And talk about awesome seats…they were in the front row!

I was just browsing through the Chronicle’s Datebook and thought this might interest some here, namely Paul.
One-Man Star Wars Trilogy

Yes, just like the title says, one man will act out the entire first installment of Star Wars (or episode IV, “A New Hope”, for you die hards) special effects and all. The show opens in The City at The Post Theater, this Thursday, September 25th and runs until October 12.

We’ve been offline here for awhile because of crazy scheduling at work, but I’m back now and I’ll try to keep up the previous update pace. While we were gone LOTS of AS.com members have celebrated a birthday, so happy belated birthdays to Evan, Ryan, Mel, Sarah, Evelyn, Nathan, and Rod.
American Idol

Well Idol returned to the Bay Area last weekend with Paula, Randy and Simon. They were at the Parc55 Hotel sending the best of the best to Hollywood. While I was invited to sit in and watch, I wasn’t able to because I couldn’t get out of work. Anyways, I might be at one of the shows in Hollywood this season and will report back then.
Artie Lange

I almost didn’t get to see Artie Lange in S.F. last Friday. We got to the Masonic Auditorium on time, but finding a place to park took almost 40 minutes! The show started at 8pm and by the time I got inside at about 8:50pm the last act before Artie was wrapping up. The show was really funny and aside from all the inside jokes that only a daily Howard Stern Fan would know, Ethel liked it too.

Even big time jerkoff “Eric the Midget” and Beetlejuice were there.

After the show I was planning to meet Artie at the theater door, but I made dinner reservations and we were starving so we couldn’t stick around. Unfortunately though it took so long to get the car from the valet that we missed the reservation entirely and the restaurant was closed.

So back to Cha Cha Cha we went for late night tapas. How does this sound: Jamaican Jerk Chicken over white rice, Grilled Marinated Chicken Wings, Calimari, Cajun Shrimp, Spanish Rice and Beans Side Dish, Sauteed Mushrooms and a half pitcher of Sangria. Needless to say, we ordered more than we could eat.

April 25th, 1961 to End of Watch September 6, 2008.

Paul and I were in the 125th Police Academy Class at the Contra Costa County Criminal Justice Training Center at Los Medanos College, from July to December of 1994. Even back then, you could tell that law enforcement was his calling. I remember sitting in that hot classroom during the first days of the academy, when all of a sudden the instructor, during the middle of a lecture, would throw out question to the recruits. Everyone in the class would be too scared to raise their hands to answer the question for fear of saying the wrong answer outloud, but not Paul. His hand was up and he would answer the question. Paul would raise his hand after every question. The first three days of the academy was dominated by this guy named Starzyk, who had all the answers. It was kind of annoying at first, but then we all got to know him.
We found out he already had alot of pre-academy experience as a reserve police officer. He was also coming into full-time police work a little later in life than most, after leaving leaving his previous job working at a bank. He was one of the more outspoken members of our class who possesed natural leadership abilities.
Paul Starzyk’s death in the line of duty is a tremendous loss to the community he served as well as the Bay Area Law Enforcement community who knew him. Go with God Paul and let your brothers take your place on The Line.
